Centering Frontline communities lived experiences in the storytelling and data
Rooted in bioethics, Data with a Soul focuses on how to report back research findings on social determinants of health and soil and dust data in rural and urban communities that are disproportionately impacted by pollution.
Project Goals
Create and pilot a national model of report back that engages rural and urban communities and reaches all populations in a manner tailored to their individual needs, including culture, life stage, language, and report design
Develop report back design types using an equity-centered community design approach and understand what influences preferred report back strategies
Develop capacity building tools for responsible report back, train knowledge mediators and evaluate the efficacy of these tools to support the role of “environmental counselors”
Identify and mitigate unintentional consequences of environmental health report back
